MKP (Monopotassium Phosphate) – Product Details
Product Name:
Chloride-Free Water-Soluble MKP Fertilizer for Foliar & Hydroponics
Chemical Formula:
KH₂PO₄
CAS Number:
7778-77-0

Chloride-Free Water-Soluble MKP Fertilizer for Foliar & Hydroponics is a high-purity, water-soluble phosphate-potassium fertilizer containing 52% P₂O₅ and 34% K₂O, with a total nutrient content exceeding 86%. As a chloride-free fertilizer (Cl⁻ ≤ 0.03%), it is highly suitable for chloride-sensitive crops (such as tobacco and grapes) and for the reclamation of saline-alkali soils.
Product Features
1. Chloride-Free Water-Soluble MKP Fertilizer for Foliar & Hydroponics is the reaction product of phosphoric acid and potassium hydroxide. The product appears as white crystals, is highly water-soluble, and is hygroscopic in the air.
2. It provides plants with water-soluble phosphorus and potassium, promoting both vegetative and reproductive growth. Suitable for foliar spraying, irrigation, and fertigation. With a purity of over 99% and excellent solubility, it is rapidly absorbed by plants.
3. 1% aqueous solution has a pH of 4.4–4.8, making it a chemically acidic fertilizer.

Recommended Usage
- Foliar Application: Suitable for foliar spraying, especially for chloride-sensitive crops. Foliar application is particularly effective on crops grown in calcareous or high-salinity soils.
- Drip Irrigation Fertilization: High purity and excellent solubility prevent clogging of drip irrigation systems, making it ideal for fertigation.
- Raw Material for Compound Fertilizers: Serves as a source of phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) in fertilizers and can be mixed with nitrogen (N) and other elements for compound fertilizer formulations.
- Application Considerations: To achieve optimal results, understand the crop’s flower bud differentiation period and growth characteristics. Ensure adequate light and controlled moisture during application.
Usage Precautions
- Monopotassium phosphate (MKP) is a high-value fertilizer, mainly used for nutrient solution cultivation and foliar spraying. While there are generally no strict restrictions on its use, the following precautions should be observed:
- Mixing with fertilizers containing water-soluble calcium: Phosphate ions can react with calcium ions to form insoluble calcium phosphate, causing precipitation. When used in nutrient solution cultivation, avoid directly mixing with calcium nitrate or other calcium-containing fertilizers. Dissolve each fertilizer separately and mix them only immediately before application.
- Attention to application concentration: When used as a nutrient solution or foliar fertilizer, do not arbitrarily increase the solution concentration. High concentrations can cause nutrient burn, impair water and nutrient absorption, and damage seedlings. Always follow the recommended formulation concentration and application methods.
Package: 25/50KG woven bag lined with plastic bags, or according to the requirements of customers.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area away from moisture and direct sunlight.
