Characteristics of Ammonium Nitrate and the Necessity of Modification Fertilizer grade ammonium nitrate contains 33% to 34% nitrogen (N), and is a commonly used variety of nitrogen fertilizer in Europe, North America, and some countries in temperate regions. 

Because calcium ammonium nitrate is a new type of composite fertilizer containing nitrate nitrogen and ammonium nitrogen two forms of nitrogen and fast-acting calcium, compared with a single ammonium nitrogen fertilizer or nitrate nitrogen fertilizer is more secure for a variety of soils and crops, and thus is now widely used in greenhouses, including field cultivation of vegetables, flowers, fruits and other cash crops and food crops, it is a matter of course.

Scope of Use

Suitable for a wide range of soils and crops, widely used in greenhouses and field-grown food crops, cash crops, flowers, fruit trees, vegetables and so on. The nitrate nitrogen in Calcium Ammonium Nitrate does not need to be transformed in the soil first but quickly dissolves in water and is directly absorbed by plants. It is suitable for base fertilizer, seed fertilizer and follow-up fertilizer.

There are two main ways to use agricultural calcium nitrate: bottom fertilizer and follow-up fertilizer.

Bottom fertilizer use:

According to the soil nutrient content, master the amount of fertilizer. For example, cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelons, peppers, eggplants and other crops need 40 to 50 pounds per acre; leafy vegetables such as cabbage, spinach, celery, etc., use 30 to 35 pounds per acre; fruit trees apply 40 to 60 pounds per acre.

Fertilizer use:

There are two ways of fertilizer tracing: traditional open furrow or hole deep application, and foliar fertilizer tracing. In the traditional fertilizer application method, fruit trees and eggplant and melon types are applied 20 to 30 pounds in the soil during the early flowering period, and 30 pounds per acre for leaves and roots. Foliar spraying of fertilizer, fruit trees in the concentration of 500 times, vegetables in the concentration of 600 to 700 times, spraying time from the seedling period, the interval of 15 to 20 days once, sprayed 2 to 3 times in a row.

Precautions

Calcium ammonium nitrate contains only two nutrients, nitrogen and calcium, and cannot be applied as a compound fertilizer.
Calcium ammonium nitrate can be applied separately from other fertilizers by drip irrigation and hole application, or mixed and spread now.
The surface of calcium ammonium nitrate particles is coated with polymer material, when used for irrigation and fertilization, it is necessary to dissolve and filter the coated material first to prevent the pipes from clogging.
