Calcium Chelations

Calcium Chelate is used for treatment of soils and crops where calcium deficiency is diagnosed or suspected. This product is particularly suitable for foliar applications, inclusion in liquid feeds and hydroponic mixes, and for soil applications. It is soluble in water and phosphate-based fertilizers.

 

If your plants are not looking their best, your plants may be suffering from a nutrient deficiency. While it’s not always easy to pinpoint a particular deficiency, if your plants have a low growth rate, have curling leaves or browning apical meristems (growing points), low calcium may be the culprit.

Foliar spray is the fastest way to add calcium to plants: You can add calcium via a spray that contains calcium chloride, calcium acetate, or calcium nitrate. This method is quick-acting and useful on plants showing an obvious and pronounced deficiency of calcium. In the case of sprays, plant leaves absorb the calcium directly. The important thing is to deliver an adequate nutrient solution to your calcium-hungry plants, whether it’s natural or synthetic.

If the growing medium is too acidic or less than 6.2 pH, the result is often calcium being locked out by the plant even when enough calcium is present. Other issues include: Other nutrients can be locked out due to an excess of calcium.
